What are the advantages of a web-based application?
With web-based applications, the installation process is quick and non-disruptive. Installation happens only once (on your server or your dedicated desktop computer) and there is no need to install anything on your other computer workstations.
Typically, we can remotely log into your network and install the application without even being in your office. We can also administer updates to the application in the same manner, so you will always be running the most current version of the software without ever having to perform a manual software upgrade on your computer workstations.
Is Pimarc a web-based application?
Yes. Pimarc is a secure web-based application. The application is installed on your server, or a desktop computer running Windows XP Professional, which would also serve as your file storage machine.
To access the application, you use Internet Explorer to log on, and interaction with your files (your database) is performed using secure internal web pages.

How scaleable is the Pimarc solution?
Pimarc is designed to grow as you grow. A special Pimarc Lite version of the Pimarc software is available for small businesses, which uses the same SQL engine and database as the full version of Pimarc software. This lets you seamlessly move to the full version of Pimarc as your needs expand.
What are the client PC requirements?
A Pentium PC is recommended with minimum 64 MB RAM. Our product requires Internet Explorer 5.5, or greater, on any Windows operating system.
What are the minimum server hardware and software requirements?
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- An Intel 800Mhz CPU or greater
- 512 MB hardware memory
- High performance disk system (10 GB min recommended)
It is preferred that the desktop machine running Pimarc software not be used by other office personnel, so that it can perform optimally as a storage device for the database and all your other files, such as CAD drawings, scanned images, documents, etc.
Do I need to purchase another database?
No. Pimarc can use many database engines, including Microsoft SQL Express (a free download) and MySQL (Open Source, with no license fees).
How easy is it to customize?
Can I import data from other programs into Pimarc?
Yes. Our specialists can assist you in importing your customer records from your accounting system into Pimarc. Importing files from MS Access, Dbase, Excel, and other programs is done swiftly and at a greatly reduced cost compared to manual coding, saving you the time and headaches of managing this migration yourself.
How easily does Pimarc integrate with other enterprise solutions?
Pimarc is easily integrated with other applications that have a database structure. As such integrating with other enterprise applications is very simple.
Information from Pimarc's SQL database can pass seamlessly to your accounting system, whether you use Accpac, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, or Peachtree.
